The Story Behind This Strand

I designed this baroque pearl necklace for days when I don’t want to dress “properly,” but I still want to look put together.

Instead of a perfectly balanced strand, I mixed medium baroque pearls with tiny 4–5mm pearls and kept them to one side. One half of the necklace feels calm and delicate; the other has more movement and character. That small imbalance is what makes it so easy to wear — it looks right with a T-shirt and jeans, a simple knit, or a black slip dress, not only with formal clothes.

Baroque pearls naturally carry more attitude than classic rounds. Their shapes catch the light in unexpected ways, so the necklace feels modern and a little playful rather than traditional. The tiny freshwater pearls stop it from feeling heavy; they soften the whole line so it still sits gently against the skin.

The clasp you see in the photo was made for a customer in Singapore — in parts of Asia, that shape is a symbol of happiness. For international orders I usually choose a simpler clasp with clean metal or a small zircon detail, so the necklace doesn’t carry one specific cultural symbol. When I finish each strand, I choose the clasp to match the pearls and the person I imagine wearing it.

If you have a preference — more minimal, more decorative, silver or gold tone — you can leave a note at checkout. I’ll keep your style in mind when I select the clasp for your freshwater baroque pearl necklace.

FAQ — Baroque Freshwater Pearl Necklace

Q: Are these real freshwater baroque pearls?
Yes. Every pearl in this necklace is a genuine freshwater baroque pearl, not imitation or glass.

Q: Will my necklace look exactly like the photos?
No two baroque pearls are identical. Your baroque pearl necklace will follow the same size, luster and style, but shapes and small details will be unique.

Q: Is the asymmetry very noticeable when worn?
It reads as softly asymmetrical, not extreme. One side has more baroque pearls, the other more tiny seed pearls, so it feels modern and intentional, not “odd.”

Q: Can I choose the clasp or metal color?
Clasps may differ from the sample. If you prefer a simple silver clasp, a bit of zircon sparkle, or a different metal tone, leave a note at checkout and I’ll try to match it.

Q: How do I care for freshwater baroque pearls?
Keep them away from perfume and harsh chemicals, wipe with a soft cloth after wearing, and store flat. This helps your baroque pearl necklace stay bright for years.

Notes

  • Every baroque pearl is unique. Your strand will have its own shapes, surfaces and luster, and won’t be an exact copy of the photos — that’s part of the charm of real baroque pearls.

  • Each necklace is handmade to order in the studio. Please allow a few days for us to string, knot and finish your piece. If you need it by a certain date, you’re welcome to email or DM us and we’ll see what we can do.
