For this pendant, I started with an 11mm coin pearl — high luster, round and calm, the kind of glow that already feels a little like moonlight. It’s beautiful on its own, of course, but that’s not actually the part I’m proudest of.

What I really spent the most time thinking about was the chain.

Instead of something thin and almost invisible, I chose a heavier silver popcorn chain — the kind with a small, intricate texture that catches the light in tiny flashes as you move. It has this quiet complexity to it, almost like a pattern you only notice when you look twice.

I like how the two balance each other: the coin pearl is simple and clean, almost minimal, while the chain is detailed and a little busy. Together they keep the design from feeling flat or too plain. That small contrast — soft circle, textured line — is exactly the kind of thing I love most when I’m designing. It feels like the pearl is the moon, and the chain is the way the night wraps around it.

• No two pieces will ever look exactly the same as the photos — every pearl has its own shape, glow, and quiet personality. The one that finds its way to you will be the only one of its kind — a small treasure meant for no one else.

Care Instructions

• Try to keep your pearls away from chemicals and prolonged sunlight exposure. Pearls are organic gemstones — with improper storage, they may gradually lose their natural glow.

• When cleaning, use a soft cloth instead of tissues or paper-based wipes. A pearl’s shine comes from the continuity of its reflective surface, and hard fibers can create micro-scratches that interrupt that smooth reflection. Keeping the surface unbroken is key to preserving its brightness.

• Please check your clasps and pearl thread from time to time. Even though we use high-quality Japanese silk thread, all pearl strings naturally wear with use — usually after 4–5 years.
