Why I Designed This Necklace

At first glance, this looks like a classic double-strand freshwater pearl necklace — one strand of 8–9mm pearls, one of 4–5mm pearls, walking side by side. But the part I love most about it is hidden in the clasp.

The silver clasp is designed to be completely detachable, which quietly changes everything. You can wear the two strands together as a short, layered necklace for a very classic look. Or you can separate them and wear just one strand at a time — a bolder, fuller line of pearls one day, a finer, lighter strand the next.

And if you link them end to end, they become a long necklace, soft and easy to wrap or wear as a single 80cm strand. One design, several different moods.

That’s what makes this piece so special to me: it doesn’t lock you into a single style. It follows your week, your outfits, your feelings. Some days you might want something neat and close to the collarbone; on others, a relaxed long strand over a sweater. This necklace quietly says: you don’t have to choose just one version of yourself.

In my head, it’s a little like twin stars in the same constellation — sometimes shining together, sometimes appearing apart, but always part of the same story.

• Single, bold strand: Style the 8–9mm strand alone for a fuller, more sculptural line of pearls.
