Alya's - Baroque Earrings E.01

I made these for the days when you want pearls, but you don’t want to feel too “dressed up.”

The shape is simple on purpose: a clean round pearl sits close to your ear like a quiet dot of light, then there’s a tiny sparkle, and the drop pearl finishes the line with just enough movement. When you wear them, they do that subtle thing I love — they don’t change who you are, they just make you look a little more “finished.” Even with a plain top, even with your hair loosely tied up, you’ll catch yourself in a window and think, okay… that’s nice.

My favorite way to wear this pair is with a classic strand — something in the 7–9mm range. A traditional pearl necklace has that soft, steady glow, and these earrings bring in the lighter, more designed feeling. One is calm and familiar, the other is playful and modern — together they balance each other in the prettiest way.

And this design is surprisingly forgiving, too. One time a girl asked me to swap the bottom baroque drop for an iridescent “avocado” green round baroque pearl — and it looked so harmonious, like it had always been meant to be that way. I think it’s because the “upper half” of this earring already feels delicate and intentional (the small pearl + the little sparkle), so as long as the pearl you choose has good light, the whole piece stays refined. You can go bolder, you can go softer — it still makes sense.
